About this program

This course introduces students to the principles of cybersecurity, focusing on protecting digital systems, data, and networks from cyber threats. Students will learn about key concepts such as encryption, firewalls, malware, phishing, password security, and ethical hacking. The course emphasizes understanding cyber threats, risk management, and best practices for staying safe online. Through hands-on activities like identifying vulnerabilities, creating secure passwords, and simulating cyberattacks in controlled environments, students will develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity and its real-world applications.

Final Projects or Artifacts:

Final projects or artifacts

Students will complete a Cybersecurity Defense Plan, including an analysis of common cyber threats, a security checklist for personal or small business networks, and a demonstration of tools like password managers or basic encryption. This will be accompanied by a reflection on the importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital world.
