The course emphasizes understanding cyber threats, risk management, and best practices for staying safe online. Through hands-on activities like identifying vulnerabilities, creating secure passwords, and simulating cyberattacks in controlled environments, students will develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity and its real-world applications.
Students will complete a Cybersecurity Defense Plan, including an analysis of common cyber threats, a security checklist for personal or small business networks, and a demonstration of tools like password managers or basic encryption. This will be accompanied by a reflection on the importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital world.
