This course introduces students to the exciting world of engineering through hands-on activities and creative problem-solving. Younger students will focus on exploring foundational engineering concepts like structure, motion, and energy through engaging, material-based projects such as building bridges, roller coasters, or simple machines. Older students will delve deeper into the engineering design process by combining hands-on prototyping with 3D modeling using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The course emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation, encouraging students of all ages to develop practical skills while fostering an interest in engineering and design.
Younger students will create a functional physical model, such as a bridge or a simple machine, documenting their design process with sketches and written reflections. Older students will design a project that integrates physical materials and CAD modeling, such as a prototype of a sustainable device or structure.
